บทคัดย่อไทย-อังกฤษ(Abstract) :
Data for this study came from 54 post-chelation treatment patients. A survey, by mailed questionnaire, was undertaken to learn about their recently completed chelation therapy experience. Fifty of them (92.6%) indicated that they had noted some improvement, while only four (7.4%) considered that they had not. Furthermore, eighteen (36%) of the 50 patients claimed to be completely asymptomatic. A Chi-Square analysis of age, gender, employment status, previous medical treatment, and total number of chelation treatments beyond a minimum (20), provided no basis for distinguishing the asymptomatic group from other patients. Yet, the asymptomatic group did differ significantly from the others in two very important ways. First, unlike the majority of patients, most of the asymptomatic group had sought and obtained chelation therapy within one year of onset of symptoms. Second, again, unlink the others, 100% of the asymptomatic patients had continued to ingest nutrient supplements prescribed by the chelating physician. The importance of this finding suggests that patients need to receive chelation therapy as early as possible and that nutrient supplements are essential as an adjunct to maintaining and enhancing the derived benefit from chelation therapy. |
