This study aimed to explore service needs of Thai traditional medicine among the elderly of Khaochaison Subdistrict, Phatthalung province. Three hundreds and twenty three elderly from the member of Khaochaison Hospital elderly club and in the community were recruited. Data were collected using questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results revealed that in the area of product / service health promotion and disease prevention, the 3 highest levels of need were health teaching on herbal food and local vegetables, selling honey in hospital, and health teaching on changing behavior for disease prevention, respectively. Whereas, the 3 highest levels of need for product / service on treatment and rehabilitation were Thai massage, health teaching on nutrition for maintaining homeostasis, and using mineral water from Khaochaison hot spa, respectively. Regarding to the price of product / service, all of the elderly reported a need including in the health package of national health insurance, offering a special cost for members of the elderly club and setting a fixed cost, at the highest levels were, respectively. Regarding to the place of service, all of the elderly needed a clean, convenient and comfortable place for sales and service, provided under a certified pharmacist and by well trained practitioners on Thai traditional medicine. The number of elders who report those needs at the highest level were, respectively. Regarding to the needs for promotion, all of the elderly needed informal and sympathetic service provided as friendly as a close relative. Some reported needs for advising for appropriate decision-making, and speaking to the responsible superior when they had any objection, respectively.
